Its only purpose is to give the user a warm feeling of being appreciated and of not being alone in the universe. When first installing WordPress, the user opens the Dashboard only to find that a new comments has been left of an existing post. The surprise, the childish wonder, the sparkling eyes … They only last for a few moments because the brain takes over the heart and shouts : “It’s just an auto-generated message, can’t you see that ?!”. But who cares, the amazing feeling was there, the user remembers it, and moreover, each time he/she opens the Dashboard, the recollection of the warm feeling will still be there, forever engraved in the memory.
And that is why we all love WordPress 😉
